Publishing model
The Textbook Project is being developed to publish academic textbooks chapter by chapter, free for readers, with peer review and translation treated as part of the model rather than as optional extras after a commercial edition.
Open-access principles
Readers should not face paywalls for core educational texts. Authors and editors will work within a public, citable workflow. Platforms, review pathways, and first titles are still being built.
First titles
The first concrete title in development is the Open International Law Textbook — a scholarly object distinct from this publishing infrastructure.
Relationship to A2KF
The Textbook Project sits alongside the Access to Knowledge Foundation educational agenda. Institutional and publishing work share the same problem: constrained access to high-quality academic resources.
